  • The first session includes a brief review of the consent form and confidentiality agreement, as well as fees and policies. The session will focus on what brings you to therapy, your life history, present and past symptomology and your therapy goals. At the end of the session I will provide feedback on treatment approaches and what you can expect from a treatment plan.

  • Treatment length can vary based on the individual. On average, a CBT treatment plan can include 8-10 sessions whereas IPT can include 16-20 sessions. Within the first few appointments you may notice improvements as a result of building greater awareness and learning new ways of coping. Symptoms are monitored throughout treatment with adjustments made accordingly

  • Yes, I am licensed to provide a psychodiagnostic assessment and to communicate a diagnosis .A diagnosis can be helpful in guiding treatment or as a means of understanding the difficulties you are experiencing. However, it is not always necessary or warranted. Regardless, of whether or not a diagnosis is made, treatment focuses on managing symptoms and improving overall functioning.

  • As a Registered Clinical Psychologist many extended insurance plans, provide partial or full coverage. It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage plan prior to your first appointment.

    Direct billing to your insurance provider is not provided. However, you will receive an invoice for each session with information that can then be submitted for insurance purposes.

  • No, a referral is not needed, you can self-refer at any time.

  • The efficacy of virtual care has been well supported in psychological literature with most recent data (Zandieh et al, 2024) confirming its effectiveness across various mental health concerns (while increasing the accessibility of mental health services).

    Dr. Daya acknowledges the role of in-person sessions for those that who are unable to access a video session or for those who are clinically contraindicated for virtual therapy. Should that be the case she will help to problem solve and facilitate appropriate next steps.
